Terms of Service
Plain-language draft terms for the current website preview, your family information and the limits of planned features.
Website draft updated · Version 2026-10-06
1. Current website service
These draft terms describe browsing supplied stories, adult family accounts, child profiles and saved mock text previews. Previews use authored text with supplied child details; they are not finished books, live AI output or generated illustrations. These terms are not a complete or legally reviewed service agreement.
You can browse the story library, create an adult account, add and edit child profiles, and save, reopen and edit mock text previews on your family bookshelf. The cart is a planning list only: it does not reserve a story, place an order or create a payment obligation.
This page covers the website preview service. Brave Tales is a product name, not a confirmed legal operator identity. The current scope is digital-only; printed books are not offered. Availability of a page in your country is not confirmation that all local service or children’s-data requirements have been met.
2. Adult eligibility and guardian responsibility
Accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older who are parents or legal guardians. Keep credentials secure and supply only information you are authorised to provide. Checkboxes record assertions, not verified identity, age or parental authority. Do not include sensitive information in optional fields.
Children do not have their own account flow. An adult must review the information supplied and the text preview before saving it, and confirm that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian and authorised to provide the details. Do not enter medical information, school or home addresses, identity documents or other sensitive family information in optional fields.
Adult confirmations and preview guardian confirmations are recorded with timestamps. They are assertions, not verified authority, and do not establish that any legally required parental-consent standard has been satisfied.
3. Accounts and security
Clerk handles account sign-in; optional Google sign-in also involves Google. Keep your sign-in credentials and verification methods secure. Do not share account access with someone who is not authorised to see the family information stored there. Sign out when using a shared device.
The application checks signed-in identity and account ownership for family records, but no service can promise absolute security. If you suspect unauthorised access, use the security controls available from your sign-in provider. Brave Tales does not yet have a confirmed monitored support channel; the Contact status page cannot submit a report.
Signing out ends the website session but is not account closure or deletion of profiles, previews or server records. Clearing browser storage is not server-side deletion either.
4. Acceptable use
Use the website lawfully and only provide information you are authorised to supply. Do not impersonate another person or guardian, provide unlawful or abusive content, or use the service to exploit, harass or harm a child or anyone else.
Do not attempt to access another family’s records, bypass authentication or ownership checks, introduce malicious code, disrupt the service or extract private information. Do not use automated requests in a way that compromises security or prevents others from using the website.
These expectations do not restrict lawful complaints, exercise of privacy or consumer rights, or uses protected by applicable law.
5. Content rights and personal use
These drafts do not transfer ownership of the information or original content you supply to Brave Tales. Supplying a child’s details does not give you ownership of the underlying story library, artwork, branding or software; those materials remain subject to their applicable rights.
The intended permitted use is to browse the supplied stories and read and review mock text previews for your own family’s personal, non-commercial use. Do not sell, republish or commercially distribute supplied stories or artwork without appropriate permission. This does not limit any use permitted by mandatory law.
Information you enter is stored and used to operate the account, profile and preview features described in the Privacy Policy. This is not a broad licence for unrelated reuse, advertising or AI training, and is not blanket privacy consent. Final content permissions and provider arrangements still require operator and qualified legal review.
6. Mock previews and saved snapshots
Saving a mock preview stores a separate child-detail and story snapshot and a guardian-confirmation timestamp. Editing a profile does not update saved previews. Signing out does not delete stored data. Read the draft privacy notice before adding family information.
Mock previews combine authored source text with supplied child details. They may include artwork descriptions, not newly generated illustrations. Review names, pronouns, story text and suitability yourself; a preview does not guarantee likeness, accuracy, educational outcomes or suitability for every child.
Child details can be embedded in saved titles and story text. Editing a saved preview replaces its current stored snapshot and records a new guardian-confirmation timestamp; it does not guarantee that earlier copies disappear from logs or backups. Saving a new preview does not delete earlier previews.
There is no self-service account, profile or preview deletion, confirmed retention schedule or working privacy-request channel. A saved preview is not a finished illustrated book, a downloadable PDF or an entitlement to a future paid product.
7. Planned books, prices and subscriptions
The current scope is digital-only. Displayed digital-book prices are planned offers, not an invitation to purchase. No payment details, delivery addresses or orders are collected; no subscription is activated. Photos, live AI, finished digital books and downloads are unavailable. Before new digital features, complete reviewed terms and feature-specific privacy information are needed. This draft does not activate commerce or change existing customer protections.
Planned digital-book and monthly/annual subscription prices are displayed in USD. The advertised introductory subscription price applies to the first billing period only; later scheduled renewals use regular prices with no mid-cycle increase. Reading a price, saving a preview or adding a story to the planning cart does not start a subscription or authorise a charge.
These terms do not amend existing planned pricing or the planned one-day-after-payment refund protection. That plan is not an active refund service because payments are not enabled. Before any purchase is offered, reviewed purchase information must explain the actual product, total charges, renewal and cancellation steps, refund process, provider and eligible markets.
Any future cancellation or refund conditions must preserve mandatory local consumer rights, including applicable remedies and withdrawal rights. This draft does not request a waiver of those rights or approve checkout.
8. Privacy and consent
Acknowledging the privacy notice or accepting these terms is not blanket consent or a waiver of mandatory local privacy or consumer rights. Where a specific consent or withdrawal mechanism is required, it must be separately established. The current preview lacks self-service deletion and a working privacy-request contact; these are gaps for current data.
No future cancellation or refund condition may override mandatory local rights. These drafts do not change planned pricing or refund rules.
Read the Privacy Policy for current accounts, child details, saved snapshots, providers and unresolved retention/rights practices, and the Cookie Policy for website authentication storage, caches and browser controls. Neither this page nor a guardian checkbox makes unresolved data practices legally sufficient.
Specific new uses, such as photo handling or live AI personalisation, need their own assessed disclosures and safeguards before activation. Acceptance of terms is not permission to introduce those uses without any required notice or valid, specific consent.
9. Service changes and restrictions
This is an unfinished preview service. Features may be corrected, temporarily unavailable or changed as development continues. No uninterrupted access, permanent storage or release date for planned products is guaranteed. This does not create a retention or deletion policy for personal data.
Access may need to be restricted for unlawful use, unauthorised access or a genuine security risk. Any restriction or discontinuation must be proportionate and comply with applicable law, including any required explanation, notice or remedy. No arbitrary forfeiture of paid products is authorised by this draft; purchases are not enabled.
Material changes affecting current data or service use need updated information and any legally required notice or consent. Changes cannot retroactively remove mandatory rights.
10. Limitations and mandatory consumer rights
The preview is for family story review, not medical, therapeutic or professional advice. No particular developmental result or risk-free processing is promised. Parents and guardians should review content and decide whether it is appropriate for their child.
Nothing in these drafts excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited, removes mandatory privacy or consumer protections, or overrides statutory remedies. Describing a service as a preview does not remove the operator’s legal duties.
No governing law, exclusive court, arbitration requirement, liability cap, broad indemnity or rights waiver has been selected here. Operator identity, applicable jurisdictions, enforceable service terms and dispute arrangements require owner and qualified legal review before a final agreement is published.
11. Draft version and updates
Website Terms of Service draft version 2026-10-06, updated 6 October 2026. The shared web/mobile disclosures retain their separate review version. These website additions have not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel.
A final agreement and any material changes must be clearly identified and communicated with any advance notice or agreement required by law. Merely publishing this draft or continuing to browse is not blanket acceptance of future terms or privacy consent.
12. Operator and contact status
Draft version 2026-10-05. Operator identity, location, contact, retention and provider/rights arrangements are unresolved publication blockers.
No monitored privacy or support contact is confirmed. This page is not a request form and cannot submit access, deletion, consent-withdrawal or complaint requests. This is an unresolved gap for existing accounts and child data, not only for future purchases. The operator must publish its legal identity, location and a staffed request channel before treating these drafts as a final policy.
The Contact status page is information only, not a working support or rights-request form. Do not send identity documents or family details to an unconfirmed address. These gaps must be resolved for the current service, not postponed until purchases become available.
